Dignified Jobs Collaborative: Community Practice (CoP) Meet-up

Meet-up of DJC CoP members, ecosystem enablers, entrepreneurs, and data enthusiasts to launch results from an AI-pilot of 12 entrepreneurs in partnership with Radiant Data. The meet-up also served as an opportunity to reflect on the use of Artificial Intelligence for impact measurement and management and use of data to mobilize capital for creation of dignified jobs for those living in poverty.

Capital for Good: Gender Lens Investing to Fight Poverty through Dignified Jobs

This workshop brought investors and CEOs/Founders on the same platform to evaluate, discuss and reflect on gender intentional strategy in their value-chains. Attendees reflected and discussed key questions on gender inclusivity, with Social Compact and Upaya anchoring conversations regarding their experiences in approaching gender inclusion and equity.
The ‘S’ of ESG and Enhancing the Dignity and Wellbeing of Workers Engaged in Your Investment Portfolio

Workshop organized in partnership with Social Compact to showcase the importance of the ‘Social’ aspect of ESG to investors through data and interactive activities and providing a framework for investors to unlock the ‘Social’ aspect in their portfolio to create Dignified Jobs. Being a consultative workshop, conversations were anchored by Upaya and Social Compact with the attendees on the worker’s perspective by asking reflective questions, especially targeting investors who had just started their journey of creating dignified jobs through their investments.
Decent Work and Economic Growth Learning Lab #2
Convening to launch results of survey of 950+ jobholders by 60 Decibels, commissioned by Upaya Social Ventures for the Dignified Jobs Collaborative. This convening also focused on case studies from the ecosystem, updates from Dalberg’s qualitative survey of gig economy workers across India to evaluate the demand side perspectives, and Social Compact’s work with the Indian industry to strengthen the visibility and inclusion of informal workers within the systems.

Decent Work and Economic Growth Learning Lab #1
Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs’ India Chapter came together with Upaya Social Ventures and Dalberg to establish the Decent Work and Economic Growth Learning Lab. As the group first came together, a representative from International Labour Organisation (ILO) shared the definition of decent work as articulated by the organisation, and participants collectively discussed the need to move beyond the definition.
